Patrick F. Ross
Patrick helps clients prepare and administer wills, trusts, and other comprehensive estate planning documents, especially parents of young children. With a background in commercial bankruptcy and litigation, Patrick emphasizes strategies and best practices to protect clients’ assets from potential future creditors and avoiding common pitfalls.
Patrick is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He has been named an “Illinois Super Lawyer” (2025) and an “Illinois Rising Star” (2014-2023) by Super Lawyers and a “Leading Lawyer” in Trust, Will & Estate Planning Law by Leading Lawyers magazine.
Patrick volunteers with several organizations.
- Volunteer estate planning attorney for the Wills for Heroes Foundation,
providing wills and powers of attorney to Chicagoland emergency first responders free of charge at events
coordinated through The Chicago Bar Association; - Member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at DePaul University College of Law;
- Member of the Harper College Educational Foundation Professional Advisors Committee, which provides funding and resources for Harper College to create programs, scholarships, special cultural events, and educational opportunities; and
- Member of the Legacy Partners of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation, a community of civic-minded advisors who promote charitable giving strategies as a way to serve clients.
Patrick graduated in the top 5% of his class and received his J.D., summa cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame (English and German majors). In law school, he served as Business Manager of the DePaul Law Review. Patrick and his family live in Chicago.
